Did that leaf just fall?

Oh, where has the summer gone? August is winding down, leaving warm (not hot) days and cooler nights here in Northeast Ohio. And I couldn't be happier! I love the change of the seasons, particularly summer into fall. Before you know it, the leaves will change colors and float their way to the ground, the need for that favorite cabled cardigan will be greater and that lovely wood-burning smell will fill the air.  But I'm getting ahead of myself. After all, it is still summer and there is much outdoor grilling and vegetable garden harvesting to do.

The love of the upcoming cooler months is part of being a knitter. And I can't deny that I've got the fall-knitting-bug. I'm aching to order one or two new patterns and get my needles clicking on a project with warm wool in heathered colors.

And what do I plan to knit? Well here's a little wish list...

Hannah Fettig's Contented Cardigan

Debbie Bliss' Cabled Beret

 Churchmouse Yarn's Welted Fingerless Gloves

And Churchmouse Yarn's Turkish Bed Socks

And those are just the things I'd like to make for myself! I have a whole separate list for my daughter, my husband and other family members.  I doubt I'll get to make all of these items this fall. I still have much knitting to do for Emma's Christmas presents. Plus, I have a few other projects on hand: a knitted gift for my expecting sister-in-law, a hat for a friend, and I am still wrapping up my hand-knit items for my soon-to-be Etsy site (stay tuned!!).

So with all of those items to make, which of the above projects do you think I should try and squeeze in for a little me-knitting?
